biography

Artist and founder of Waygood Gallery & Studios.

“My career as an artist combines my own practise and the development of Waygood Gallery & Studios. I view this as my contribution to the community of artists, writers and curators I am a member of, in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK”

In 1995 I founded Waygood as a programme of critical contemporary art presented in the context of an artist's venue. For me this is defined as studios, a gallery and a meeting place for artists, art teachers and writers.”

I am interested in the way artists develop ideas within a community with whom they share interests, art and lifestyle, Being aware of other artists' research and close to the development of their practice informs my curating at Waygood and is the context in which I choose to live and make art.”
